Flow Indicators

In visual inspections for predictive maintenance, flow indicators are used to quantify the volume of fluid consumed, transported, or produced as well as the flow (or flow) of air, gas, steam, or liquids. Flow indicators are tools that show a system's fluid flow status, direction, and/or rate visually. They are frequently placed to give operators real-time information about fluid movement in tanks, pipelines, and process equipment. A visible indicator, such as a rotor, paddle, or ball that moves in reaction to the flow, is usually attached to a transparent or translucent body through which the fluid flows. Operators can keep an eye on the system's operation thanks to the indicator's movement, which shows a visual indication of flow as the fluid goes past it.
