The resistance provided by the insulation covering an electrically conducting wire can be referred to as insulation resistance. The insulation resistance of the cable refers to the resistance provided in the leakage current channel by the insulation of the cable. The quantity of electrical charge that can be held for a specific potential difference or voltage drop across the device is called capacitance. Utilizing a device like a digital or analogue multimeter, resistance is measured. Both types of instruments are versatile and can measure a range of characteristics, including current, voltage, and resistance.
