The technique of monitoring fluid in a plant or industry is known as flow measurement. Flow can be measured using Coriolis, differential pressure, vortex, magnetic, ultrasonic, turbine, and positive displacement metres, among other instruments. A turbine flow metre uses a reasonably simple working principle to detect volumetric total flow and/or flow rate. The fluid velocity flowing through the turbine is directly proportional to the angular (rotational) velocity of the turbine rotor.
