The pressure regulator is combined with an electrically operated proportional solenoid in electropneumatic pressure regulators. These valves either require their own controller or the control signal is integrated into a Programmable Logic Controller (PLC). What distinguishes these valves is that the pressure may be adjusted electronically in real time depending on machine feedback.
