A ball valve is a kind of quarter-turn valve that regulates fluid flow by means of a spherical ball with a hole drilled through its center. The valve is open and allows fluid to pass through when the ball's hole lines up with the flow channel. The hole is perpendicular to the flow and the valve closes, obstructing the fluid, when the ball is rotated 90 degrees. Ball valves are renowned for their dependability, longevity, and simplicity of use, which makes them perfect for on-off control in a variety of settings, such as chemical processing systems, water, and gas. Their low pressure drop and tight sealing improve system efficiency.
