Input Output Unit

The input and output units of a Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) system are essential parts that enable communication between the PLC and the outside world.

The input units accept signals from different sensors, switches, and other devices and transform them into electrical signals that the PLC can handle from physical inputs such as temperature, pressure, or location. Limit switches, analog sensors, and push buttons are examples of common input devices.

On the other hand, output units transform the signals coming from the PLC into actions. They efficiently carry out the PLC's programmed logic by controlling devices like motors, lights, and relays. Digital (on/off) or analog (varying levels) output devices are both possible.

The PLC can monitor and regulate industrial processes with the help of input and output units, resulting in effective automation and operation.
